An immersive storytelling workshop where students collaboratively invent an entire fictional world — its rules, characters and environments — then bring it to life using movement, voice, sound and physical theatre.
World Move Remix (Primary only)
Explore simple traditional moves from different cultures, remix them into contemporary sequences, and create a collaborative “global fusion” dance.
Character Lab (Primary only)
An immersive character-creation workshop inspired by iconic classical ballet characters, where students learn how professional performers use posture, movement and imagination to bring stories to life through the body
Percussion Playground (Primary Only)
Students learn about cultural rhythms and world music, using varuious percussion instruments to complete musical and dance-based tasks.
Cultural Dance and Music Jam (Primary and Secondary)
Explore dance and music from around the world with guest artists bringing authentic cultural traditions to the classroom.
From Stage to Story: Ballet Reimagined (Primary and Secondary)
Students explore scenes and characters from famous classical ballets, then reinterpret them through modern storytelling, movement, and performance.
From Idea to Performance: How artsist Make Work (Primary and Secondary)
Students are guided through the same creative process used by professional choreographers. From Movement to set and costume design, students experience all facets of choreography.
The Creative Score (Primary and Secondary)
Students learn the fundamentals of creating and interpreting choreographic scores using their voices, bodies and everyday objects before creating a dance piece.
Voices in Motion (Primary and Secondary)
Using ensemble movement as the foundation, participants explore cultural rhythm, gesture and voice to create a choir-based performance grounded in the body.
Identity in Motion (Secondary only)
Students explore how identity, belonging and self-expression can be communicated through the body, creating short ensemble pieces rooted in personal and collective experience.
The Maker-Mover Lab (Secondary only)
Through guided exploration, students transform a poem or prose excerpt into physical theatre, using objects, movement and rhythm to reveal meaning beyond the words.
Movement Audio Diaries (Secondary only)
Students explore a studied theme by collecting sound from their school environment, constructing a full length track, and transforming it into a choreographed movement response.
Ensemble Hack Lab (Secondary only)
A fast-paced creative lab where students “hack” performance rules, breaking traditional choreography, dialogue and staging to create experimental ensemble works.
The Body Archive (Secondary only)
Students create movement “archives” of gestures inspired by everyday life, culture, media and personal experience, then curate them into short works.
The Immersive Story Room (half day activity for secondary students)
A hybrid workshop blending sound design, object theatre, movement, micro-filmmaking + narrative worldbuilding.
Choreographic Intensive: The Architects of Impulse (VCE Dance)
A four-session artist-led lab inviting senior dance students to develop original choreography through sound creation, spatial exploration, and creative authorship beyond the VCE framework.

Costume Design Workshop (Primary and Secondary)
Work with a professional costume designer to explore how costume communicates character and story, tailored to your school’s chosen theme (e.g., steampunk jewellery, theatrical accessories).
Scenography Studio (Primary and Secondary)
Students explore how theatre-makers design worlds. Using space, scale, colour and texture, students create visual environments that communicate mood, setting and story without actors or dialogue.
Light Work Lab (Primary and Secondary)
A visual arts workshop exploring light, shadow and contrast using torches, paper, colour and structure.
Silent Stage Design (Primary and Secondary)
Students create a complete stage picture — set, costume and spatial arrangement that communicates story without dialogue or performance.
Script to Stage Design Challenge (Secondary only)
A fast-paced design sprint where students transform a short script into a complete visual world, creating set concepts, costume palettes, props, lighting ideas and a unified staging vision.
Live Score Creation (Secondary only)
A theatre-led ensemble workshop where students collaboratively create a live visual artwork inspired by a historical moment or cultural tradition, responding in real time to spoken cues, rhythm and spatial direction.
The Final Run Through (Secondary only)
A theatre-based team challenge culminating in a single uninterrupted “run-through,” where students must hold focus, timing and ensemble responsibility as the visual work is created in front of an audience.
Installation in Motion (Secondary only)
Students design a site-responsive installation that shifts subtly over time. Using simple materials, repetition and spatial rules, students explore how visual art can exist as a living system.
Behind the Curtain (Secondary Only)
A theatrical visual arts workshop revealing what happens offstage in ballet—rituals, superstitions, hierarchy and discipline—translated into live ensemble art-making.

Students build immersive sound worlds using layered ambience, rhythm, voice loops and found objects, creating audio pieces that express mood, theme or narrative.
The Foley FX Lab (Primary and Secondary)
Students discover how everyday objects create cinematic sound effects, experimenting with footsteps, weather, magic, impact sounds and vocal FX — then layering them onto a short clip.
Stop Motion Studio (Primary and Secondary)
Students create mini stop-motion films using paper cut-outs, clay, objects or drawings, learning timing, sequencing and visual storytelling.
Silent Film Storytelling (Primary and Secondary)
A physical-theatre and filmmaking hybrid where students create short silent films, learning to communicate emotion and story visually without dialogue.
Documentary in a Day (Primary and Secondary)
Students choose a topic and create a mini documentary, learning interviewing, B-roll, narrative flow, and simple editing.
Music Video Production (Secondary only)
Students plan, choreograph, film and edit a short music video using simple effects, creative transitions, and rhythmic editing.
Visual Poetry: Film as Expression (Secondary only)
A creative filmmaking lab where students use movement, abstract imagery, rhythm and sound to create a short “visual poem.”
Spoken Word: Open Mic Lab (Secondary only)
Create, perform and be heard in this dynamic spoken word workshop combining writing, music and self-expression

From Ballerina to Business Owner
An inspiring, interactive session led by professional artist and entrepreneur Sheena Chundee, sharing her journey from training at The Royal Ballet School and performing internationally, to founding and directing Rebel Stepz Arts.
Blending motivational storytelling with practical creative exercises, this session encourages students and emerging artists to reflect on their own creative paths, set goals, and build confidence in pursuing creative careers.
Creative Foundations Lab
The session is highly interactive and group-driven. Participants collaborate through guided exercises that explore their artistic values, creative strengths, and potential pathways into the industry. Small-group “Offer Labs” encourage peers to help each other shape viable creative services—such as workshops, commissions, products, programs or collaborations—while the “Ecosystem Roundtable” demystifies the realities of working with councils, libraries, festivals, community organisations and corporates. Creators’ Mentorship Lab
This advanced program is designed for emerging artists (Years 9-12) who wish to move beyond simply participating and instead lead their own creative project. Over a 6-week (or term-long) series, mentees receive one-on-one and small-group mentoring from Rebel Stepz Arts’ professional artists and collaborators.
The Project Pitch Lab
Students learn how to confidently pitch creative ideas. Through low-pressure pitching exercises, participants practice articulating ideas clearly, responding to questions and receiving constructive feedback.
